You will see an incoming video call screen when a friend contacts you on video and you happen to be using your phone. This screen contains a view of whatever the caller’s camera sees, your buddy’s name or phone number, and buttons to answer or cancel the conversation.

When you answer a video call, or if your friend replies, you’ll see the video call screen, which contains a glimpse of whatever his or her camera views and four buttons. There is a mute button, a button to switch between your front and back cameras, a low-light mode button, and an end call button among these buttons. 

There’s also a thumbnail of your camera view (which you can press to enlarge, thus reducing your friend’s camera view to the circular thumbnail). Everything is clear.

Conclusion

Google Duo was a Google video and voice calling software, comparable to Apple’s FaceTime, Facebook’s WhatsApp or Messenger, and Microsoft’s Skype. Unlike Apple’s FaceTime, Duo was free to use and operated on both iOS and Android smartphones. However, Google integrated Duo with Google Meet in August 2022, and the service is now branded just as Meet.

Google announced the merger of Duo and Google Meet in early June 2022 – its two video-calling applications were in a strange sort of rivalry with one other, so it makes sense to put them under one roof. The merger then went into effect in early August 2022. Unfortunately, the procedure was not as straightforward as we had planned. The Duo app has been renamed Google Meet, while the Google Meet app remains operational and is now known as Google Meet (original).

Duo’s functions have not changed, but Google has added all of Meet’s capabilities to the app, along with the rebranding. The original Meet, on the other hand, has not received all of Duo’s capabilities and will be depreciated at some time in the future.
