- Play a card: The player can play a card from their hand onto the discard pile. The card played must match either the number or suit of the top card on the discard pile. If the player has a blue card, they can play it regardless of the top card on the discard pile.
- Roll the dice: If the player has a blue card in their hand, they can choose to roll the dice instead of playing a card. The number rolled corresponds to the number of points they receive. The player then discards the blue card and the dice.
- Pick up the discard pile: If a player cannot or chooses not to play a card, they can pick up the entire discard pile and add it to their hand.
The game continues with each player taking turns until one player has no cards left in their hand. At this point, the round ends and players tally up their points.
Scoring
At the end of each round, players receive points for the cards left in their hand. The point values for each card are as follows:
- Non-blue cards: The number on the card is the number of points it is worth. For example, a 10 of clubs is worth 10 points.
- Blue cards: Blue cards are worth double the number on the card. For example, a blue 5 is worth 10 points.
Players then add up their points and the player with the least number of points is declared the winner of that round. The game continues with multiple rounds until one player reaches a predetermined number of points, usually 100.
