My Exercise Game

As someone who has always struggled with motivating myself to exercise, I decided to create my own exercise game. This game has not only helped me stay consistent with my workouts, but also made the whole experience more enjoyable. In this article, I’ll be sharing how my exercise game works and how you can create your own version to fit your fitness goals.

The Concept

The idea behind my exercise game is simple – make exercising feel like a game. Instead of doing the same repetitive exercises, my game introduces new elements that keep me engaged and excited to workout. This game is perfect for those who find traditional forms of exercise boring and monotonous.

How to Create Your Own Exercise Game

If you’re interested in creating your own exercise game, here’s how you can get started:

  1. Choose your workout moves: Start by selecting a few of your favorite exercises and write them down. These will be your “moves” in the game.
  2. Create a list of challenges: Think of different challenges that you can incorporate into your exercises. This could be a timed interval, a certain number of reps, or even completing the exercise in a different way. Get creative and think of challenges that will make your workout more exciting.
  3. Assign points to challenges: Assign points to each challenge based on its difficulty level. This will add a competitive edge to your game and motivate you to push harder.
  4. Set a goal: Decide on a goal for each workout session, whether it’s completing a certain number of points or finishing a specific number of rounds. This will give you something to work towards and make your workout more structured.

How My Exercise Game Works

Now that you have an understanding of how to create your own exercise game, here’s a breakdown of how mine works:

The Moves

I chose a mix of bodyweight exercises, such as push-ups, burpees, and squats, as well as some equipment-based exercises like kettlebell swings and battle ropes. This gives me a good balance of strength and cardio in my workouts.

The Challenges

For each move, I have 3-4 different challenges to choose from. For example, for push-ups, I have challenges like “do as many reps as you can in 30 seconds” or “complete 3 sets of 15 push-ups”. This ensures that I never get bored with the same set of exercises.

The Points System

As mentioned earlier, each challenge is assigned a certain number of points based on its difficulty level. For instance, a more challenging challenge like “do burpees for 1 minute” will earn me more points than a simpler one like “do 10 squats”. This motivates me to push myself and earn more points.

The Goal

My goal for each workout session is to complete a certain number of points. This varies depending on how much time I have and my energy level for the day. Setting a goal helps me stay on track and also gives me a sense of accomplishment once I reach it.

“My exercise game has not only helped me stay consistent with my workouts, but also made the whole experience more enjoyable.”

Why It Works

So, why does my exercise game work so well for me? Here are a few reasons:

  • Variety: The different challenges and exercises keep my workouts interesting and prevent me from getting bored.
  • Friendly competition: The points system adds a competitive aspect to my workouts, making them more exciting.
  • Structure: Having a goal and a plan for each workout session keeps me focused and increases my chances of success.
  • Motivation: The game turns something that can feel like a chore into a fun activity, making me more motivated to exercise regularly.

Final Thoughts

Creating my own exercise game has been a game-changer for me, both physically and mentally. It has helped me stay consistent with my workouts and made the whole experience more enjoyable. I highly recommend giving it a try and customizing it to fit your own fitness goals.

If you do decide to create your own exercise game, don’t forget to track your progress and make adjustments along the way. Who knows, you might just discover a new passion for staying fit!
