I’ve always been fascinated by light and its various forms. From the warm glow of a candle to the bright rays of the sun, light has a way of captivating us and making us feel a certain sense of awe. As a child, I used to love playing with laser pointers and flashlights, creating different shapes and patterns with the light. That’s when I got the idea to create my very own light game.
The Concept
The concept of my light game is simple yet fun. I designed a rectangular box with a translucent lid and holes on each side. Inside the box, I placed various colored LED lights and a small mirror. The goal of the game is to maneuver the lights to bounce off the mirror and create different patterns on the walls.
To make it more challenging, I added different levels to the game, with each level having a different number of lights and obstacles inside the box. The higher the level, the more difficult it becomes to create the desired pattern.
Creating the Game
Making the game was a fun and creative process. I started by gathering materials such as a cardboard box, colored LED lights, a small mirror, and a hot glue gun. I carefully drilled holes on each side of the box, making sure they were evenly spaced.
Next, I hot glued the LED lights inside the box, positioning them in a way so that they would hit the mirror at different angles. I also added a small knob inside the box that could be turned to tilt the mirror, giving players more control over the light beams.
The Gameplay
The gameplay of my light game is quite simple yet addictive. Players can take turns trying to create different patterns by tilting the mirror and adjusting the lights. The player who successfully creates the desired pattern earns a point, and the first one to reach a certain number of points wins.
The game can also be played solo, where players can challenge themselves to create more complex patterns and beat their own high score. It’s a great way to pass the time and exercise your creativity and hand-eye coordination skills.
Conclusion
In a world full of video games and technology, it’s refreshing to create a simple yet engaging game that revolves around a natural element such as light. My Very Own Light Game has become a hit among my friends and family, and I hope to inspire others to get creative and make their own versions of light games.
