The objective of the game is to collect the most points by uncovering and sharing memories with the other players. The game consists of 60 cards divided into 6 categories: places, people, events, objects, emotions, and wild cards. Each category represents a different aspect of our memories.
How to Play
To start the game, each player is dealt 5 cards. The rest of the cards are placed facedown in the middle of the players. The first player will flip over a card from the deck and place it in the center, thus creating the memory pool. The player must then connect the theme of the card to one of their own memories and share it with the others. For example, if the card is “Favorite Childhood Toy,” the player can share a memory about their favorite toy from their childhood.
If other players also have a memory that they can connect to the card, they can contribute to the shared memory by placing their own card on top of the original one. This creates a “tape” of memories, hence the name of the game. The more players that contribute to a memory, the more points can be earned.
After the first player has shared their memory, the turn moves to the next player who repeats the steps. Players can also use wild cards to add more variety to their memories or disrupt other players’ memories. The game continues until the memory pool runs out of cards or until all players have played all their cards.
